Description
Hōjicha (ほうじ茶, 焙じ茶, lit. ’roasted tea’) is a Japanese green tea. It is distinctive from other Japanese green teas because it is roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal. It is roasted at 150 °C (302 °F) to prevent oxidation and produce a light golden colour, as opposed to other Japanese teas which are steamed. In general, the base of a hōjicha consists of leaves from the second harvest or after.
“Sukusuku” organic roasted green tea – tea bag (5g * 20 pcs).
Because it is naturally organically grown, it is a hojicha with a gentle taste. Compared to sencha, it contains less catechin and caffeine, so there is no astringency and the flavor of brown rice spreads throughout your mouth.
For serving:
- amount of tea leaves: 1 tb (5g);
- add 1 L hot water 70℃ (158℉);
- steeping time: 3 minutes.
If the tea bag is left in hot water, it will have a bitter taste and astringency. Please be sure to take it out and drink it.
